These programs can help in the recruitment of National Academy-level faculty members:
- The Governor’s University Research Initiative (GURI), enacted in 2015, is aimed at helping Texas public institutions of higher education recruit distinguished researchers from around the world to the State of Texas.
- Beginning in 2013, the Chancellor’s Research Initiative (CRI) has provided funds to Texas A&M University for the recruitment and hiring of faculty researchers who have established themselves in unique areas of academia capable of aiding Texas’ technological progress, helping create and enhance research capabilities and ensuring the highest quality of research and infrastructure development.
- Through the Hagler Fellows program, the Hagler Institute for Advanced Study at Texas A&M University selects and recruits top scholars from around the world for visiting professorships and access to Texas A&M's research facilities.
