2023 Call for Applications
This mid-career faculty learning community focuses on the building and maintaining of professional momentum after tenure. Participants will use Appreciative Inquiry - a framework for strategic planning that builds on strengths - in the context of other programming to highlight the support and development opportunities that Texas A&M makes available for elevating faculty scholarship and recognition. Faculty participants from other learning community cohorts employing this approach indicate five shared outcomes:
- A productive shift in mindset, focus and professional purpose
- A strengthened ability to set and make progress toward relevant career goals
- Increased energy and confidence to pursue academic career goals
- New-found appreciation for the value provided by a purposeful community of faculty peers
- An appreciation for the progream structure and facilitators as well as the resources available to mid-career faculty at Texas A&M University

- A short essay indicating the mid-career goals and challenges you have, and would like to identify success strategies for
- A letter of endorsement from your Department Head, indicating their support for your participation in the program
Eligibility and Commitment Required
This opportunity is for faculty who are at least three years post-tenure, holding the rank of either Associate or Full Professor. Participation requires a commitment to attend all the sessions, as well as taking the time necessary to explore strengths through a one-on-one coaching session and to progressively build the strategic career plan.
The sessions will be in-person, 12:00-3:00 p.m. (lunch provided) on specific Fridays across the fall semester:
- Friday, September 29
- Friday, October 13
- Friday, October 27
- Friday, November 10
- Friday, December 1
- Friday, December 15
*Eligible faculty from campuses outside of Bryan/College Station may attend via Zoom*
